AMALATTEA's commitment in the research sector ..................... WORK WITH US!
Milk is the main ingredient in the diet of Italian people, since it contains all the essential nutrients needed for a healthy development of the body.
Milk ought to be the main ingredient of a healthy diet and it means taking care of oneself and one's own future as for good health, and a healthy and long life.
Valorization of goat milk – which is the foundation stone of our commitment – is a kind of activity that is enriched by new elements every day, thanks to communication and innovation as well, so people participate into these activities as protagonists and enjoy the positive effects on their well-being and the perceived quality of products.
Goat milk is a very good alternative to cow's milk and “milk-alike” drinks (such as vegetable drinks i.e. soy, rice or almond drinks), it meets the nutritional needs of people according to their age, lifestyle, sport activities and health conditions. Moreover, it is good, tasty and rich in aromatic flavours so that those who really like new tastes are encouraged to drink it.
We want to keep working like this, however we cannot disregard the precious help given by the development of knowledge of the properties of goat milk and its by-products in the medical and scientific sector.
We wish to serve consumers an ancient type of food again, to appreciate again those “healthy” characteristics that were empirically attributed to it in the old days: high fat digestibility, ideal calcium and phosphorous contents for bone mineralization, a richness in vitamins (vit. A and vit. B3 especially) and more essential micro-nutrients.
So, our challenge for the future is finding unquestionable scientifically-valid answers to consumers' questions.
As a matter of fact, doctors claim that no adequate medical literature exists to encourage the use of goat products for paediatric dietotherapy, as well as for adults' or old people's dietotherapy, or during specific physiological phases, such as pregnancy and breast-feeding.
Even the EFSA, the European Agency for Food Security in charge of passing judgement on nutrition, was not able to express its own stand on the use of goat milk for the treatment of people affected by intolerance to cow's milk proteins because of the lack of studies and papers possessing an acknowledged scientific authoritativeness.
We are aware of this situation, so we want to draw the attention of our readers by asking the representatives of the scientific and medical world to contribute to our work and collaborate with us to send the EFSA the necessary documents so that goat milk's excellent nutritional properties can finally be recognized; as a matter of fact, thanks to these properties, goat milk has been essential for many a generation, especially among the weakest categories, such as the poor, the sick and children.
Thank you in advance for the attention and time you may want to devote to filling in the form and answering and sending us the questions attached (first level, if you do not know Amalattea; second level, if you already took part into our activities). All remarks and comments will be collected and used to follow the right path concerning the scientific and medical sector.
Moreover, if you wish to contribute to the enrichment of materials to be sent to EFSA (studies, researches, papers on goat milk and its by-products, that have been published on important international scientific magazines), please send everything either to scienza@amalattea.com or to the following address: to the attention of Direzione Scientifica AMALATTEA SPA - Via Casilina 1670 - 00133 Rome RM - Italy.
